Thank you Alengrin! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Belgian Ticks Tasting Ghent”. Only thing that distinguishes the label from the dark version is that the background here is green, yeah sure that is clear to everyone. Golden, white head. Nose is sweet chemical, plastic, band-aid,… Taste is chemical, plastic, rotting, band-aid painfully chemical, rubbish washing powder,… Sugar,… Chemical washing powder body. Quite unpleasant to me.

Tripel for a commissioner in Lokeren, tasted several times there throughout the years. Frothy, snow white, mousse-like head and yellowish blonde colour, misty. Sweetish fruity aroma of banana, mango, kiwi, pineapple, vanilla, grass, cloves; exotic fruits in the mouth, bit buttery, sweet malty with yeasty spiciness, quite strong carbo, smooth, mild herbal hoppiness in the finish with warming alcohol. Technically accomplished (no wonder, it’s Proef) and actually quite tasty, even if conceptually boring.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours golden with a slight haze and a lacing white head. Perfumy coriander nose with quite some fruit and yeast. Solid, fruity, astringent and yeasty. Some alcohol in the finish. I’d call this a Tripel. 161010

Huge, slightly yellow-tinted fluffy head, over faintly hazed, well-carbonated golden beer with an orange sheen. Nose as from a dry, white wine, slightly spiced (dry ginger powder-like), faintly buttery, green leaves. Toasted & spiced flavours, mild sweetness. Bit of caramel and again dry root spices; I seem to get banana ester and butter retronasal. Bit burning MF, quite carbonated and reasonably attenuated, dry-ish. Spiced tripel-like; though I suspect most of the flavours are yeast-induced. The buttery flavour is strange, and it isn’t diacetyl.
