Drink at the day: 24.08.2018. Best Before: 30.03.2019. Not matured porter. Drink and lovely taste: 14.02.2024. Best Before: 30.03.2019. Five years old Matured bottle. Ocena usredniona 2 wersji. pierwsza nie starzona 4,5, wersja 5-cio letnia 4,7. Srednia wychodzi 4,6

Shared at tasting @ Koelschtrinker's place. Malty dusty beginning. Absolutely hard to drink. Wood, dust, furry on the tongue. Very strange brew with wood in the back. Not my thing.

Sampled from 0.33 l bottle, best before October 2019. Clear, dark reddish amber to black with a beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty, woody and fruity aroma of caramel, dark chocolate, sherry, vanilla and some wood. Quite sweet, malty, slightly roasty, wood and slightly fruity taste of caramel, dark chocolate, sherry, vanilla and wood, followed by a medium long, moderately roasty-bitter, slightly woody-dry finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice beer, not much left of the standard version which I prefer by miles though.

The sherry barrel aged version of this renowned Polish porter, with thick and frothy, egg-white, dense head and black colour with burgundy edges. Aroma of fried black olives, Cuban cigars, toasted walnuts, dried plums, bitter chocolate, black peppercorns, nutmeg, indeed oloroso sherry, beef stock, wet wood, dried cherries. Restrainedly sweet onseet, sourish touch, hints of raisins and dried plums, beef stock cube-like umami note, soft carbo, smooth and thick, oily mouthfeel. Very walnutty and toasted malt body, deep and thick, with the toasted bitterness eventually accentuated by a spicy hop touch, yet at the same time softened by the sherry effect, adding warmth, complexity and sweetness; softly sourish accent remains. Almost like a dark barleywine, this is clearly a notch up from the already fantastic regular version - a great way to innovate an old style largely underexposed in the craft beer movement.

Beczka zrobiła robotę, porównując z wersją podstawową to dwa różne piwa . Dostało w aromacie dodatkowych nut owocowych (najbardziej wyczuwalna delikatna czarna porzeczka), wiśnia w czekoladzie, wanilia dość słabo, delikatny szlachetny alk. W smaku suszona śliwka, wanilia (bardziej wyczuwalna aniżeli w aromacie), gorzka czekolada, wszystko dopełnia wysoka goryczka z finiszem mocno spalonej kawy. Średnie wysycenie, aksamitne. Jedna z ciekawszych beczek.
