Can, thanks Grumbo. Clear yellow golden, large frothy white head, pretty stable. A bit smelly nose, wet cardboard, vegetable notes, later on more grassy notes. Medim sweet, a bit of corn, hints of bitternessa nd metallic/citric finish. Light body. Typical lager, nothing special, but still drinkable.

Sample, huge thanks to Grumbo for this. Misty gold appearance, thin white head. Aroma brings corn, sweet malt. Continues into the sweeter side, with additional corn and mild fruity notes. Not bad actually.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Golden colour, white foam head and aroma of sweet malt, grains, fruity & grassy. Taste is sweet malty, corn grain, with some cardboardy bitterness. Medium bodied, high carbonation, dry papery bitter finish. Kind of OK

15/11/2022. Can bought at Casino supermarche, Geant Sainte Marie, Noumea. Brewed under licence at Le Froid. Pours clear golden with a frothy white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, citrus, grass, a little orange and marzipan. Medium sweetness and light to moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slightly oily, average carbonation. Actually quite nice and for me better than Le Froid’s Manta beers.

330ml can into schooner glass, courtesy of Bitterlady. Smells like burnt cardboard and stale bread. Crystal clear golden amber with thin white head. Lightly carbonated. Medium body, taste is mildly bitter, slight zing. Finish is bubblegum sweet turning to a lingering maltiness. Probably too sweet to be really easy-drinking but ice cold in Port Vila, it will do the job. Gets more vegetal as it warms.

330ml can and bottles. Pours lager colour with a thick white head. Aroma is peach and lemon. Flavour is very peachy, plenty of citrus and only a touch of the boiled vegetable notes that so often pop up in the style, and even then only when it warms. After a week of drinking a lot of this, I feel safe in making a decisive judgement. It’s not a good beer, certainly by the standards of this site. However, you shouldn’t come to Vanuatu for the beer, and you can have much worse beer experiences than a few cold Tuskers by the pool at the end of a long day in the sun. It’s really not too bad.

Bottle at Erakor Island Resort, Vanuatu, August 2014. Clear light golden with a white head. Very thin and boring with cardboard, bread and some boiled vegetables. Actually really awful.

Pale gold. Grassy hop aroma, with a delicate spiciness. The hop doesn’t show up much on the palate (or even the nose unless it’s really fresh). It’s a fairly thin beer, light with vague hop and a little grainy sourness in the finish. Uneventful, serviceable lager.
