Tasted at Lambikstoempers’ Bierweekend in Alsemberg, seemed like a fresh bottle so I don’t see why it is already listed as ’retired’ here... Very thick and frothy, rocky, lacing, cream white head supported by almost champagne-like fizz in a hazy old gold coloured beer. Aroma of apricot, dry hay, potpourri, pear, chamomille, earth and orange peel; crisp, refreshing flavour, fruity without being too estery, dryish, fzzy, hints of peach and light banana, yeasty but in a clean kind of way, sourish edge, ending in a characterful, floral, peppery and earthy hop bitterness, dry and quenching. Beautiful saison, from the ultimate saison brewery.

7/II/14 - 33cl bottle from De Zytholoog / Bierloods (Adegem) @ home - BB: III/2012 (2014-179)

Clear golden beer, big creamy irregular white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: bit soapy, very floral, sweet touch, bit sugary, hint of orange peel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: some citrus, orange peel, almonds and marzipan, bit oxidized, some sherry. Aftertaste: soft but omnipresent bitterness, little soapy, floral, bit of toasted malts, bitter hops, some citrus, little bit aged, but held up very well.

33cl bottle.
