Cask at the Hope Tap, JDW - Reading. Pours clear yellow with a dense, creamy white head. Grainy pale bread on the nose, mild lemony tang. Light sweet flavor with notes of husky grain, lemon peel, dough, dirty straw. Light bodied with fine carbonation; so so condition. Lightly astringent in the finish, with more hay, grains, sugary pale bread. Not great.

Cask at the Hobgoblin, High Wycombe. Deep golden with a moderate white head. Weak and bland tasting; some caramel with a little grass and lemon. Disappointing coming from Loddon who are normally pretty reliable.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Pale gold colour crystal clear, thick white head. This is what a blond ale should be like, lively, good body, decent pale malts , but really good hops, sherbert on finish, good grapefruit/tangerine aroma. Good enough to have 2 pints of it.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading.] Very lively and difficult to draw - eventually settled with a straw body and thin dense off-shite head; grainy cereal aroma; similar flavours with some citrus and honey; smooth creamy finish, slightly dry and peppery and no sign of the Cascade hops.
