Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque black with a short, fizzy head that disappears in no time. Subtle roast in the nose, but the usual Amphora tartness is lurking. Light body, fizzy carbonation, subtle roast but everything completely overpowered by the massive lactic infection. Friends, you really have to go through your set-up to investigate what infects all your (bottled) beers. 231215

Bottle shared at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell - London. Cheers to Paul for this one. Pours clearish brown with a fluffy beige head. Dusty burnt leaves in the nose, light dried berries. Light to medium sweet flavour, with some jammy dark berries, light tangy chocolate. Light bodied with average carbonation. A little bit of dry cocoa in the finish, some earthy bitterness, toasted leaves. Pretty meh overall.

Review according to BJCP2008 guidelines (style 13B). Bottle 50 cl - Batch C02-14. AROMA: sweet roasted aromas coffee like. Some metallic and sulphury notes. No esters, hop or DMS aromas noticeable. APPEARANCE: dark color, opaque with a tanned head with no retention. TASTE: nice roasted flavours but unbalanced for a sweet stout. low bitterness and low to very low sweetness. finishes roasty and dry. PALATE: low body with very low carbonation and no residual sweetness. watery. OVERALL: an unbalanced sweet stout towards roasted grains, with a very thin body that should be medium-full to full. Needs more sweetness.

Bottle at The Craft Clerkenwell. I don’t think it’s that sweet. Quite dry on the finish. Decent dry toast stout. Some fruit.

Bottle shared at Craft Clerko. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The nose is earthy, roast, milk chocolate, lactose, coffee and toast. The taste is roasted malt, earth, dull tang, faint spice, dark fruits and coffee with a dry finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Touch if tang, bit not bad.
