16 February 2020. At In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst. Cheers to Anke & Pieter! Vintage 2012. Pours clear dark amber with a lasting, very thin, frothy, off-white head. Intense aroma of cake, candied orange, plum, raisin, prune, port wine, bourbon, ripe pear, toffee, date jam, bit oxidized (in a nice, sherry kind of way). Taste has very sweet candied dates, prune & raisin on a thick cake-like, slightly caramelly maltiness with a herbal bitter note, a bit woody, warming up already. Dryish, herbal, bit peppery hoppy finish, lingering candied fruitiness, cake & brioche, woody along with a strong dash of bourbon & port alcohol. Medium body, oily-syrupy texture, fizzy carbonation. Massive Ale, simply delicious.

Bottle from the Craft Beer Cellar Belmont. Dark chestnut in color with a thin off white head that dissipates quickly. Rich dark and burnt brown sugary fruity with bits of jam and oaken vanilla. Very complex and tasty sipper.

Copper colour, big white head, quickly dissapearing. Intensive and complex aroma of red fruits, vanilla, caramel, spices, red wine, hard candies. Taste of red fruits, red wine, caramel, vanilla, spices, hard candies, fruity licorice. Typical Belgian accents. Sweet. Low bitterness, high carbonation. Alcoholic ending. Very very nice one

Flasche bei Bierlinie. Klares mittleres Orange-Rot mit durchschnittlichem Schaum. Aroma: Moderat Malzig, etwas Karamell, Kaffee, getrocknete Früchte, Beeren, Rosinen. Geschmack: Sehr süß, Dessertwein-Charakter. Honig, Kaffee, Hauch Vanille. Öliger Antrunk, etwas bitter. Anfangs etwas aufdringlich, wird dann aber sehr gut.

Vintage de 75cl achetée en direct chez Struise et dégustée lors de la soirée St Nicolas 2019 au Niger. Le tout montre un BB de 2017.
Ambrée, sur un col léger beige, le tout avec un léger doré au verre.
Arôme au nez allant vers des notes de fruits noirs et secs - rappelant les dates et les figues. Retrouve un agréable bouquet boisé. La vanille du Bourbon semble avoir perdu de sa primeur.
Palais est épais, pas mal de barrique avec un effet de vin plus marqué. Pointe de pomme caramélisée - figue et date. Le tout montre qd même son age. Epaisseur de bouche, garde un caractère belge virant presque sur une quadruple.

From a bottle. Pours a hazy mahogany with an ecru head. Aromas are vinous. Flavors are sweet toffee and candi sugar.

750 ml bottle, shared by Sander, thanks! Brown, hazy body, with a medium, creamy, beige head. Aroma of brown sugar, toffee, dried fruits, some red wine, subtle bourbon. Tastes similar. Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation. Finishes warm, boozy, medium sweet, wooden, fruity, a bit vinous, with chocolate, brown sugar. Nice one. Quite sweet and heavy, while interesting and complex. The wine barrel is more prominent than the bourbon barrel. Far from my favourite stuff from De Struise, but still a nice sipper. Score: 7 / 4 / 7 / 3 / 15

A dark brown beer, a head is small and blond. Aroma has raisin and prune, some grapes and notes of alcohol. Taste has raisin, grapes, apricot, some alcohol. Medium+ bodied. The barreling is quite strong, also not so complicated as this kind of beer should be.
