On tap at Schilling Cider House - PDX, pours a clear dull blonde, no head. Aroma brings out dry farmhouse cider and light cider. Flavour is sweet and funky, with farmhouse notes, leather, barnyard notes and sweet apples. Great interplay of sweetness and farmhouse funk. Excellent.

Thank you for sharing Israeli Crew! Sampled @ BAF 2016. Super hazy orange. Nose is thick fermenting barn, very raw apple skins, raw fermenting. Taste is harsh raw apple, funk, barn, barrel, green apple, raw & funky. Harsh fun. Challenging initially but interesting very funky, raw & fermenting.

Tap at Ebenezer’s Sweet bubbly brown sugary apple juice. The cleanest tasting cider I’ve ever had. Highly recommended if you enjoy a sweet cider.

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey. Hazy straw yellow with off-white head. Aromas of light floral notes, apples. Tastes of apples, light floral notes, subtle tartness. Light body with a semi-dry finish. Pretty tasty French cider.

Bottle from Whole Foods Bowery. Sat quietly in a spare wine shipper till I dropped my keys & went looking. Sort of like finding a $20 bill in a pair of old jeans, or finding a number on a toilet stall that you recognize. Bottle is at this point close to 2 years old.

Ommegang anniversary glass. Violent cork shoots off with just an unhinging of the wire. Decent gusher too. Glass is ready though, & we clean up nice without much lost. Crazy active streams shoot up & sizzle on the surface. A tall & thin, foam develops, faltering & rising a quarter as tall with every stir of the glass. Honey orange body that is not quite clear, like wearing UV shades.
Smell is a mild grassy funk & bittersweet browned apples. Faint ammonia. Flinty. Dried apples. Mud. Wets my appetite.
Taste is all about sweet, slightly tart, browned apples & a sturdy, bitter leafy/salad/herbal note. Then there’s a good bit of calcium & skin, finishing with something nutty, leaving significant dry mouth.
Suds are strong, prickly, but not quite sizzling. Moderate acidity. Starchy body. Dry finish leaves me with the munchies.

I ditched the stemware after the first glass. French scrumpy. This deserves to be drunk out of a jar. :)

2006 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a huge white head that has huge retention (cider with this much and long lasting head?) over a clear golden body. Aroma is odd, at first some poached salmon, cedar, wood, apple core, and must. Taste is light manure, bandaid, fruit and apple stems. Fizzy and dry.

750ml bottle from tytoanderso; nose of apples with a tiny bit of funkiness; lightly hazed gold with a medium white head; flavor of apples, semi-sweet, with a touch of funkiness from the natural fermentation.
