Nitro can in their 2016 holiday 6 pack. Bready, lots of cereals, subtle sweetness hints of vanilla. Creamy mouth feel, very soft carb. Low bitterness, sweet cereals.... Pretty basic, one note, decent for what it is.

Keg at Mill St., Ottawa. Clear copper colour, mid sized head. Toasty ashy nose with slight boiled vegetables. Mid dry with light-medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Toasty and lightly fruity. Spicy mid bitter finish.

Can: Poured a clear copper color ale with a nitro smooth head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of light caramelized notes with smooth creamy notes. Taste is a mix of lightly sweet caramelized notes with subtle residual sugar notes and a smooth finish from the nitro notes. Body is light with good carbonation. I find the nitro kind of remove flavours but still an easy sessionable Irish ale.

Enjoyed a pint at the Arrow & Loon after the first RedBlacks’ home victory. Pours a very slight hazy amber colour with a creamy off-white head that lasts for the whole experience. Fruity cream ale aromas. Creamy mouthfeel with a crisp feel. Pretty much the same taste as the nose, with the fruity malts, mild bitterness from the hops in the finish. Refreshing creamy ale with decent body and bite in the end.

Amber-red. Great crystal-toasty malt aroma is appetizing. The taste, however, is just crushed by the nitrogen. For all the awesomeness that the aroma hints at, there is simply nothing left on the palate but bland caramel. What’s the point of using those great ingredients?

An amber ale with a thin creamy off white head. In aroma, a smooth caramel malt with light British hops. In mouth, a nice nutty biscuit malt with light smooth herbal hops, nice and silky. On tap at Mill St. Ottawa location, Feb. 4 2012.
