6/XI/20 - 44cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ home, BB: 27/XI/20 (2020-1030)

Clear orange beer, big creamy off-white head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: pretty oxidized, caramel malt,s honey, some ripe tropical fruits. MF: very lively carbon, medium body. Taste: lots and lots of oranges, both candied and dried orange peel, sweet, some citrus notes, nice bitterness, dry. Aftertaste: lots of orange peel, honey, hoppy, bitter sweet touch, fruity, pretty soapy finish, floral, barely an ipa, let alone a NEIPA. Weird stuff. Curious how old this was (though I bought it very shortly before drinking)?

Bottled. Misty golden body, white head. White wine notes and light grainy maltiness in the aroma. Lean malty taste, big fruitiness, pomegrenate and light white wine. Atypical really, not bad.

330ml bottle. Hazy, amber colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, mostly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Citrusy and slightly tropical, fruity hoppy aroma, hints of orange, lemon, some passion fruit and mango, leafy hints of lemon tea, slightly sugary, caramel malty and minimally wheaty background. Taste is slightly dry, citrusy hoppy with a leafy touch, hints of lemon, lemon tea, some orange, a touch of green tea. Again, as Alfons, not really what you'd expect from a NEIPA: neither in appearance nor kind of fruitiness, there's a lack of juiciness as well. This is rather a slightly modified West Coast IPA - and probably modified to its disadvantage.
