Tap at Frisches Bier. Hazy golden, off-white head. Medium mellow body. Nice fresh fruity hop notes, tropical, citric and grape like. Easy drink.

On tap at Frisches Bier, München, Wednesday 12th June 2019. The aroma which suggests sweetness (some honey, malts etc) would lead you to believe that this is stronger than it is. Sweet in the mouth, honey, hoppiness shows but bitterness reigned in by the sweetness. This is a nice beer, it could be better but the sweetness, which to be fair is a word that I have overused in this rating, but for the right reasons, anyway it needs to lose some of that :-)

0.33 l bottle from ’EDEKA Mohr’, best before July 2017. Clear, golden yellow with a large, very dense, stable, white head. Sweetish, very fruity, slightly resiny and a bit herbal-grassy aroma of passion fruit, pineapple, orange and some pine. Sweetish, just slightly bitter, quite fruity, slightly herbal-grassy and a bit resiny taste of passion fruit, orange, some lemongrass and hints of spruce, followed by a medium long, quite bitter, dry, resiny and slightly herbal-grassy finish. Above medium-bodied, slightly creamy and quite effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Good stuff!

330ml bottle [another big "Thanks" to bartle#4 for delivery of Ziggy, that is what we’ve got here (rhyme without reason)]. Slightly cloudy, orangey golden colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, slowly osteoporosing, white head. Fruity and minimally leafy, hoppy aroma, notes of tropical and yellow stone fruit, zesty, citrusy notes as well, minimally sugary, caramel and aple malty background, notes of mirabelle, apricot, mango, passion fruit, orange, mandarine. Taste is moderately zesty, bitter hoppy, citrusy and tropical fruity, notes of mango, passion fruit, hints of mirabelle, apricot, some mandarine and orange; resinous and minimally leafy, grassy-spicy, almost peppery overtones with a waxy touch, partly condensed to something coming close to liquorice. Minimally watery finish, lively, slightly prickling carbonation. A plethora of fruity flavours with spicy support. Reliably good Ziggy variety.
