1784, the year in which Jan Baptist De Bruyne lays the foundation for Brouwerij Van Steenberge. No better ode to the founder of the brewery than our Baptist beers. Beers brewed with modern techniques and respect for our rich history. In addition to a tasteful tribute to our founder, Baptist Blond is also brewed on the occasion of the opening of our own Bar Baptist. The result is an accessible specialty beer with a full and rich taste.

From tap. Pours clear and golde to pale yellow, small creamy and white head. Aroma is fruity, slight floral too. Mellow fruity, mild sweet malty. Lingering smooth cornish flavour like. Mild fruity finish.

Thank you for sharing kraddel + tderock + Rubin77! Sampled draft @ Bruges Beer Festival 2017. Extremely pale clear golden, little white head. Nose is chemical, vegetables, grain alcohol. Taste is chemical, corn, bafflingly chemical, chalk, plaster, vegetables, faint jonge jenever,.. Body is corn, vegetables, paint. My second beer from their new installation, second one to taste bafflingly & awfully chemical and industrial. This tastes like they used chemicals to make this in the worst way imaginable. No doubt the new brewery is a marvel of technology, efficiency, cost reduction etc. so far the beer for me is an industrial abomination. If this was a horse, I would shoot it.

5/II/17 - 33cl bottle @ Brugs Bierfestival - BB: n/a (2017-138) Thanks to 77ships, kraddel and Rubin77 for sharing today's beers!

Clear pale yellow beer, small creamy white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: cow fodder, grains, hay, very German / rural impression. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, little sweet. Aftertaste: cow fodder, grains. Not a big fan, needs more bitterness.
