Bruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is bitterzoet met iets van karamel, wat rood fruit en een vleug anijs.

Thank you for sharing kraddel + tderock + Rubin77! Sampled bottled @ Bruges Beer Festival 2017. Dark brown, deep ruby hue, solid tanned head. Nose is licorice, bark, sugar, leaves & heavy kitche spices. Taste is stale kitchen spices, metallic, herbal, Coca-Cola, cardamom, sugar, overly sweet. Body is metallic, cardamom, sugar. Not the greatest, metallic, overly heavy on leaves, licorice, stale kitchen spices but passable for the style in general & above average for the brewery.

New strong beer by Herberg presented to the public at Brugs Bierfestival. From a 75 cl bottle. Pale greyish beige, moussy, dense head quickly dissipating in the middle, on top of a hazy translucent chestnut brown beer with bronze hue. Aroma of candied fig, stewed pear, coriander, caramel, rainwater, red cabbage, hoarse meat, damp hay, walnut, toffee, some light DMS. Sweet, estery onset, fig, banana, peach, sourish touch, mild carbonation, supple, ’fluffy’ mouthfeel, caramelly malt sweetness with nutty edge, earthy hop bitterness, lingering fruity esters and residual sugars and warming alcohol in the finish along with the DMS returning retronasally, but not too strongly so. Lacking in originality I’m afraid - bearing the least original name I ever saw even in spite of being in English - and not completely flawless, could do with more body and less DMS. Acceptable, but nothing spectacular.
