Bouteille 33cl, BB 03/2018. Orange assez trouble - effet levure, col fin crémeux beige.

Off white frothy head stayed well on a murky, oak coloured body. Peach & citrus aroma (got a blocked nose today!) Medium bodied, well carbonated, tingly on the back. Malty tastes with peach, grapefruit, yeast, banana & a bit sour on the aft.

IPL from Totem, so basically a bottom-fermented version of modern IPA. At Wieze Bierfestival, cheers to Klaas and Liesbeth. Lacing, snow white, moussy head, orange blonde robe, clear but turning cloudy with sediment - in other words unfiltered, not very common for IPL, or for lager in general. Aroma of pink grapefruit, mandarin, biscuit, pine needles, cedar essential oil, exotic peppers, mango. Clean, crisp fruitiness in the mouth, not very estery as is to be expected from the style, hints of dried mango and orange zest, softish carbo, slick and supple body, biscuity in its core, cereally. Long, aromatic hop finish, grapefruity, tropical fruits, floral in an exotic way, spicy bitterness way below but in an elegant manner. This may well be the very first IPL in Belgium and if anyone can do it with this amount of refinement and boldness, it must be Totem, whom I consider to be the most interesting brewery of Eastern Flanders.

Thank you for sharing kraddel + tderock + Rubin77! Sampled draft @ Bruges Beer Festival 2017. Hazy orange, off-white head. Nose is mellow peach, rustic barn hops, faintly raw wort with some bready malt. Taste is dank orange peel, grainy, mildly rustic, raw almost wort-like malt in a good way, orange peel, lightly sweet with low sugar. Body is malty, rustic, grain. Pretty solid, nice brew, pleasant faintly raw.
