OUR STRAIGHT-UP STRAIN: THE ‘BLUE DREAM’ IPA

Trailblazers don’t torch a new passageway and then stop; they keep finding new ways in and new ways back out. That’s exactly what we did with our metamodern IPA conceived of hand-selected hops from down under. Malt barley and red wheat combine to create a clean malt backbone with a foolproof flavor and mouthfeel to support America’s sneak peek at Enigma, Vic Secret, Ella and Galaxy hops. The hops strum juicy and sweet aromas with headline notes of passion fruit, raspberries, pineapple and citrus. This intense, straight-up strain is Oskar Blues IPA (6.43% ABV).

Smash a Blue Ferrigno… and it’ll smash back.

12 oz can from Brewers Haven. Finally getting around to this. This is another case where it orobably was the shit when it came out, but has since been surpassed. Pretty standard all the way through, classic IPA. Here's to the trailblazers!

Can from AEON Liquors, Jiyugaoka. Pours deep orange, just a bit cloudy. Some white foam on top bit that disappears relatively quickly. Nose has some rotting tropical fruits, lots of mango and apricots, kind of skunky but not in a bad way, still enjoying this, Taste reveals a medium body, somewhat medium bitterness and good tropical fruits with some guava extra flavours and a touch of citrus. Overall, quite nice although the hop profile seems to be somewhat pungent.

3 month old can A: Poured 1/2" of yellow beige bubbly foam that held up well . Medium gold and mostly clear. S: Mostly pine with light grapefruit and bread. T: Very fruity with heavy tropical notes and both bready and fruity sweetness. Citrus present but takes a backseat. M: Light medium body. Highly carbonated. Juicy finish in the back of the mouth. O: Quite good with nice balance of flavors, great texture and sensible strength.
