Bottle at L42. It pours jet black with a decent tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, chalky charred wood, ash, char, dark chocolate, tar, treacle and earth. The taste is dry, charred, roasted malt, earthy, roasty, dark chocolate, slick, oily, tarry, umami and liquorice with a drying finish. Full bottle and moderate carbonation. Decent.

Draft. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, bread, and chocolate, leading to a dry roasted finish.

(Thx! for sharing) Sampled draft @ Italian BEER Week-End #5. Black, solid thick mocha head, pretty big head. Nose is foremost strangely soap, herbal, licorice, roast, sweet soap. Taste is strangely herbal, leaves, sweet soap again, sugar, herbal, mocha,… Sweet, messy, strange & soap note bothers me,… Bit too herbal & licorice forward.

Draft @ Barborteur Beerdays #1, 14.5.2016.

Bottle at Birrivico, Como
Black color, frothy beige head. Mild aroma of roasted malt. Good body strength, yet the mouthfeel is lean, moderately sweet; nice roasted malt flavor, with a touch of coffee and dark chocolate; correct bitterness, a bit less than a Black IPA, although it’s also a bit resiny.
Solid beer, very good.

On tap @Bir&Fud (Rome). Pours deep brown/black with a good cappuccino head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, strong and persistent, amazing. Flavour is light sweet with a medium bitterness, coffee and dark chocolate again. Medium body, medium to light carbonation. Refined.

On tap at Bir&Fud, Rome-Italy. Pours very dark coffee bean, nutty-brownish cap. Nose: mild coffee, more chocolate and roasted malt character. Mouth: not that much of warm you expect but nice, easier to swallow, cold coffee, light bitter end. Different and surprising. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
