An innovative style that matches roasty notes with fruity/hoppy ones. Dry hopped with Sorachi Ace, there are hints of coconut coming through the toastier flavours of the darker malts.

Almost black beer with a creamy, medium and light brown head. Aroma has roastiness, liquirice, pine needles and some grapefruits. Taste is strongly bitter, pine needles and grapefruist, lots of roastiness, some coffee, balanced sweetness. Medium+ bodied, nice and smooth palate. Quite simple but enjoyable.

Bottled. More or less black colour, small beige head. Aroma is liquorice, some roasted notes along with some citrusy and wooden notes to it. Flavour is liquorice, wood, some caramel, cookies and mild roasted notes. Actually a quite tasty Black IPA.

Fra flaske (thanks, Cimbasso!) på RBHD-samling på Tau okt-14: brunsvart, og med storboblet kort beige skum. Deilig aroma av citrus, furu, kvalitetskaffe og portvin (vanilje?). Like god smak uten å være overhumlet. Litt lakris sniker seg inn mot slutten.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Black colour, tan head. Pleasant aroma of American hops, citrus and pine. Also roasty notes. The flavour has piney hops and roasty coffee notes, but they don’t blend in quite as harmoniously as in some other black IPAs. Still a good beer.
