Aroma is candy sweet, alcoholic and has some wet wood. Taste is sticky and sweet. Much too sweet in fact.

Deep amber coloured body with a brown tint and almost no head at all - this is NOT what a trip should look like. Aroma of yeast, malt, wheat, alcohol, raisins and other pit fruits with a bit of cardboard and earthy nuts. Medium-bodied; Strong alcohol flavour at first with malt, pit fruits, apples, pears and a bit of caramel nuttiness. Aftertaste shows some yeast with a good fruity character and a definite alcohol flavour at the end. Overall, an interesting, but unfortunately not good beer that doesn’t remind me of any tripel that i’ve ever had - but who’s to say I can judge, since I’m not Belgian! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Beer Mania in Bruxelles, Belgium on 30-June-2012 for €2,50 sampled at home on the other side of the Ocean in Washington on 14-December-2012.

Bottle. Hazy orange amber, thick cream colored head, solid lacing. Aroma of hay, wheat bread dough. Taste starts sweet, then light spice. Decent balance and nice body.

bottle 33cl.

Warning! Early amateur rating! Crispish malts and a little darker malt with some tangy fruit. Rather obvious alcohol strength. Good though!

Bottled. Hazy orangeish golden colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, toffee, some sweet malts as well as mild spicy notes. Flavour is quite much the same along with some slight yeastyness. Also some mild sugary notes and alcohol as it warms up.

Bottle at De Kelk. Pours amber with a decent off-white head. Aromas of roasted caramel and honey - that’s it. Near full body with rather creamy carbonation. Seems to have honey/sugar - so not dry. Not very sweet either. Floral hop seems abundant. Finish is pretty dry.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Reddish amber with disappearing beige head. Better than the blond and amber but only just. I’m not sure who these guys are, but they really do need to step up their game. A slightly malty beer, not much tripel flavour. Bit sweet. Bit soapy still. Again not very good.
