4/X/17 - 33cl bottle from a trade, shared @ home - BB: 4th Q/IX/18 (2017-1765) Thanks to Bierridder_S for the trade!
Clear dark brown to black beer, creamy beige to brown head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: rather roasted, sweet, grains, hay. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit sweet, malty, soft roast, some alcohol, coffee, some caramel. Aftertaste: very bitter, hoppy, sweet malty touch, bitter roast. Not getting much peppercorns or lavender, TBH. Decent impy stout though...

Tap. Dark brown color with small tan head. Aroma is oats, cereal, coffee, black cocolate. Taste is coffee, grainy, more oats and cereals, quite aromatic and dry, but not very complex. Some molasses in the finish. Not bad, but not outstanding.

tap at the Brewery. Pours black, small off-white head. Smell is full, creamy. Taste is full, yet sharp. Fruity even ( probably the lavender ) Some bitterness. very unique ! personally, i’m not a big fan of the combo, but it’s interesting how they have succeeded in making a stout thats on one hand thick and heavy, and on the other hand refreshing ( almost ? ) . Truly unique .

At BBP’s own premises, where it was sold as #EXP0026 but this was apparently an error - after inquiring with BBP, #EXP0026 apparently does not even exist and this was the one intended. Thick, frothy, creamy, lacing, pale beige head, black colour with chestnut brown edges becoming visible under bright light. Pleasant aroma of coffee grounds, bitter chocolate, roasted chestnuts, dry breakfast cereals, parsley, pink pepper, horseradish, burnt toast, dried fig, black olive, beef stock cubes, coffee cream, leather but hardly any apparent lavender. Subdued dried fruit sweetness in the onset, some dried banana and raisin, dim sourish backing vocals, beefy umami edge, medium carbo, smooth and thick, oily mouthfeel as is to be expected from a 9+% ABV stout, with the creamy oatmeal effect. Nutty malt core, caramelly lacing, lots of bitter chocolate, bayleaf-like spicy touch towards the end which could (or could not) be the lavender, toasted bitterness, mildly but adequately peppery tail both from hops and from the pink pepper, working very well together, some warming alcohol which in all remains well hidden. Technically very competent and enjoyable oatmeal stout, but the lavender was a bit lost on me - but this could only be because my tastebuds had gotten a bit tired after so many beers, admittedly. Will revisit if I encounter it again.

Draft @ BBP.
