Sample @ Zythos’16, courtesy of and shared with the RB Belgian crew.

Leicht trübes orange braunes Bier mit geringen leicht beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch süß malzig, Karamell, blockmalz. Geschmack sehr malzig, süß, blockmalz, uninteressant.

Sampled bottled @ ZBF 2016. (Thank you for sharing RB people!) Very hazy orange, amber off-white head. Nose is smoke that is reminiscent of a hospital & some spoiled dark fruits. Taste is oily flowers, spoiled dark fruits, big fizzy, tad medicinal smoke, dark fruits. Odd, different from what I expected, decent but a bit too messy & hospital smoke forward for me. Not bad overall.

23/IV/16 - bottle @ Zythos Bierfestival 2016 (Leuven) - BB: n/a (2016-400) Thanks to the BE RB crew for sharing beers today!

Cloudy amber beer, creamy off-white head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet, lots of yeast, banana, soft smoky touch, and is that some peat? MF: lively carbon, medium to light body. Taste: bitter start, bit smoky, some caramel, yeasty, hoppy. Aftertaste: lots of bitter hops, soft smoke, some banana, dry finish. Was hoping for a much more smoked malts profile, doesn't have to be a Schlenkerla, but I wouldn't mind. :p
