Rusty cap inside, uhoh. Black, small tan head. Smells rich bourbon, dark chocolate, smth damp cellar behind it. Medium thin body, but smooth, and definitely some alcohol. Taste is buckets of bourbon, sweet, rich, followed by fudgy chocolate, heavy boozy. Really delicious, but too much bourbon for me to really appreciate to its fullest potential.

Bottle picked up from Beyond Beer, Hamburg, Germany. Consumed at home Sunday 10th January 2021 we had Beef with apricots and prunes and spiced pecans, listening talking to Scott and Mandy via Zoom. Pours dark brown edging towards black with a tan head. Aroma is fruity mostly dark dried fruits, some chocolate and coffee also. Plenty of molasses in the mouth, in fact this is very sweet, dark fruits again, plus some vanilla, chocolate, a little boozy. I have to say I thought that when I saw that this was described as a Belgian Dark Strong Ale on here, I was unsure that I was drinking the same beer.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Oct 20. Pitch black pour, lasting deep brown head. Aroma comprises roasted malt with rich muscovado and cassonade. Taste builds on this, oily sweet, viscous with dark malts and captivating bourbon nuances. Very good.

Monday 26th October 2020; Shrewsbury Monthly Beer Share, in Chez Sophie. Five beer geeks, one aim! Cheers Simon for the 375ml bottle of this. As the name suggests, this is a dark brew and pretty perilous if you don't like malty sweet beers, luckily I do. After half an evening of sour/wild beers this came as a real relief to me and my sweet tooth. Malty molasses rule the nose and flavour of this lovely strong beer, smooth, rich and warming.
