Dunkel malziger, gleichzeitig dezent säuerlicher Beginn. Schokolade & Kaffee im Mittelteil, süßlich-säuerlich, cremig. Das Ganze bei kaum vorhandener Karbonisierung, Kakao, hohe Süffigkeit. Die Fasslagerung macht sich direkt im Aroma nicht bemerkbar,trägt aber zur Komplexität und Harmonie bei. Leicht alkoholischer Unterton, langer Abgang. 8/11/12/11/10/11

375ml bottle. Jet black colour with slightly late awakening, small, frothy, osteoporosing, re-condensing, then creamy, minimally lacing, tan head. BA supported, dark and caramel malty, slightly yeasty fruity and minimally yeasty spicy aroma, notes of dark toffee, dark chocolate, some dark caramel, hints of plum, cherry, a minimally woody and peaty touch, whiffs of marmite, mahleb, cherry kernels. Taste is minimally dry and tart-ish, vinous fruity and dark malty, minimally yeasty spicy, notes of blue grapes, hints of cherry, morello, plum, dark chocolate, toffee, a touch of marmite, minimally peaty undertones, a minimally tannic, woody touch as well. Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, fine, soft to flat carbonation. Homogeneous, not the most complex Baltic Porter, rather restricted malt flavours, pronounced fruitiness, relatively drinkable due to the tart-ish, fruity aspects - nice sipper.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Etre. Pours black-brown with a bubbly, beige head. Sweet, lots of tangy dark malts, dark fruits, almost sour, some booze, raisins, burnt wood. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Warming finish, some tangy berries, light ash, roast. Not great.

Aus der Flasche (bbe 03.2025) im 2021-09 getrunken. Dieses Porter mit schöner braunen Schaumkrone kommt nehmen seiner Schokoladennote mit einer leichten Fruchtsäure von dunklen Beeren daher. Am Gaumen rundet ein feine Süsse dieses Porter ab.

In het aroma en gelijk bij de eerste slok komt de zachte whisky lekker door, typische la calavera Brettje zit er uiteraard ook in, iets droog, geroosterd, chocolade, cacao, zoethout, drop, lekkere porter...in de Calavera stijl...

Bottle. Color: Almost black, very thin beige head. Aroma: Roasted malt, pretty strong Whiskey, vanilla, boozy. Taste: Roasted malt, dark coffee, boozy, Whiskey hints, some vanilla, licorice, light hints of dark dried fruit. Some umami. Moderate bitterness, over moderate to medium sweet, very slightly sour. Sirupy mouthfeel. Low carbonation, over medium body. Nice sipper, although La Calavera did far better BA beers.

Tap at mini-CBH, Oljenkorsi, Helsinki. Colour is very dark brown with small slightly brownish head. Aromas and flavours: Whiskey, dryness, dark chocolate and roasted malts.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Ash, roast and licorice in the aroma. Hint of vanilla. Sweet, syrupy flavor with raisins, roast, licorice, figs, vanilla. I can’t taste the promised whisky. Very low on carbon.

Pours black, no head. Smell is full, syrupy, sweet, mildly roasty. A Chocolate aspect. Taste is full, syrupy, bit 'plastic' roastyness. Too off for me.
