Awarded ‘Best in Gloucestershire’ for two consecutive years. Perry made mainly from the perry pear ‘Blakeney Red’. Pale straw in colour, crisp and fresh, gives a beautiful explosion of pear on the palate, leaving a pleasant lingering tannic after taste. Good with fish dishes and for drinking on its own.

On tap at London Cider House, pours a clear blonde, no head. Aroma brings out a honey character, with medium dry pears, fermented notes, vinegar, and pear core. Flavour is sweet, with honied pears fermented pears and vinegar. Too vinegary, sweet and lacking complexity. Not great.

Sampled at Scopeys 2nd East Croydon Beer tasting, thanks to Paul. Clear very light yellow color. Smell liquid manure almost: unpleasant. Tastes sweet, dry and a bit weird. Not very good.

Draft from the 2011 Wallington beer festival. It pours a white grape colour, with a thin bubbly head, The nose is medicinal, farmyard, manure, cheesy feet and chamomile. The taste is sweet pear, white grape and light floral, with semi-dry finish. Light body and pretty much no carbonation. Straight forward and inoffensive, but a bit too sweet for me.

Plastic cask at GBBF08. Weak citric aroma. Hazy very pale yellow. The flavour is OK, slightly acidic, but not rough at all. Tastes like cider.

Barrel at GBBF 2007. A light yellow perry with no head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of pears. The flavor has strong notes of pears as well as light notes of wood, on a slightly acidic back ground, leading to a medium dry finish. The body is a bit watery - surprisingly considering the 6.4% ABV.
