Aromatic. Approachable. Unique. Intriguing. Happy-go-lucky. Full-bodied. And we’re not just talking about the horse.
This hop-forward session American Pale Ale uses a blend of classic and modern Pacific Northwest hops, including Mosaic, Ekuanot™ (formerly Equinox) and Glacier, for a pungent blend of peach, mango and tropical aromas. The signature ingredient - oats - are what makes Oatsmobile Ale stand apart, and gives it a body that you don’t see in most other sessionable pale ales.

Bottled. A golden beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of malt and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw and malt, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle. So about time I got around to this one... Not sure what my delay was all about, but I put it off, which is rare for a Bells offering. Pour’s a medium golden orange with a thin head and aromas of slightly skunky hops with a hint of spice, a hint of orange and a whiff of tropical something-or-other. Flavor is light up front (refreshing? but with more of a caramel footprint than a honey one... even if that comes without it being \"sugary\" or \"sweet\") and then a light hops finish. Hops are somewhat muted and are a little of everything... slightly citrusy, slightly floral, slightly tropical and a tad resinous. All in all, this is a pretty interesting beer for a low ABV offering... In some ways I like it more than many of the Session IPA’s de jour. It’s not in any danger of being a hop tea, but holds its own level of intrigue. I might have to find a sixer of this and mow the lawn one of these days...

Pungent daffodil and pot bouquet, dank. Hazy amber, fine floaties, medium yellow head, good lace. Bong resin, daffodils, lillies. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Well I know one type of beer drinker is going to really love this. That’s not really my thing, but I did enjoy this.

A fair amount of citrus here and some oat. Oat gives good malt backbone. Dark amber pour with good head and lacing. Easy drinking. Light bitter finish. Bottle.

Single bottle pkgd. 04/07/2016 into my Piggly Wiggly tulip. A: Cloudy rich gold with a big thick head retaining well and leaving generous lacing. S: Grainy pale malt scent. Fresh bread. If hops are here they’re leafy. T: Surprisingly hoppy! Clean but bitter taste of pithy hops with that "smoothness". Wheat bread in good balance. M: Very nice feel with soft tingling carbonation. Milky finish. O: Had no idea what to expect but I like this a lot. Well done and seemingly good in every way. Low abv, wide availability and $9 - $10/6 = WInner!

12 oz bottle as Oatsmobile. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Floral, pine, tropical hop aromas. Citrus, tropical, floral hop flavors, light on the palate. Some good flavors in here if you’re looking for something really light.

Clear gold with a tall, fluffy white head. Fresh fruity aroma, strawberry mango cotton candy. The flavor is light bitterness with a dry finish. This passes for a session IPA.
