Cheers Mat for bringing a 500ml bottle to the Jan 2016 Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Group meeting: my first Polish ’craft beer’ and Barley Wine from that country. Red hue to the body, the head beige. Bitter, unsweet brew with a noticeable alcohol bite. Most likely the only Barley Wine that hasn’t been sweet I have ever had: nice though.

500ml bottle @ Shrewsbury Beer Share, Jan 16, courtesy of myself. Many thanks to Werckmeister for the trade. Big hoppy barley wine aroma. Taste is hugely hoppy with every one of the 110 IBUs showing a good bitter hop bite. Some smooth plummy depths. Nicely balanced. Great barley wine.

Copper colored, very clear. Short head leaves a ring. Some citruses and tropical fruits in aroma. Slight DMS and alcohol. Very high bitterness, medium sweetness. I love the taste. It’s like half-dry wine. Warm in throat, full body, subtly carbonated.

0,5l bottle at home. BB 29.12.2015. nice brown lightly hazy color, small off-white head. smells of melon, some sweetness, lots of tropical fruits, mango, some pines, candy, herbs. very nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, full mouthfeel. tastes of pines, grass, herbs, some tropical fruits, rather sweet, but also a good bitterness, candy / almost sugary, mango, light melon, peppery, some lemon grass. finishes quite balanced both sweet and bitter with notes of resin and peppery / lemon grass / herbal. good stuff, nicely balanced barley wine with a good hoppy base, actually I like it better after it warms up, drinks great.

Butelka przeleżakowana 3 miesiące po dacie. Piękne klarowne o barwie burgundu. Piana gęsta, oblepia szkło. Aromat ziołowo-naftowy. Pamiętam, że jak próbowałem pierwszej warki zaraz po premierze to aromat był bardziej cytrusowy. W smaku podobnie ziołowo, lekko słodowo. Gorycz mocna, zalegająca w ustach. Nagazowanie niskie.

Barwa bursztynowa, klarowne, piana obfita, drobnopęcherzykowa, niezły lacing. W aromacie nuty chmielowe, ziołowo-leśne, lekka nafta, słodycz owocowa. W smaku potężna dawka słodyczy i nut chmielowych, cytrusowych i żywicznych, spora podbudowa słodowa, piwo jest gęste, konkretne, nie jest przesadnie karmelowe, ale jest bardzo słodkie i jednocześnie nie jest mulące. Goryczka dość wysoka, lekko pozostająca, ale generalnie przyjemna, głównie chmielowa, wysycenie dość niskie, może być, treściwość naprawdę spora, zaznaczony alkohol, rozgrzewający i nieco podbijający goryczkę. Pijalność jak na 24 Plato dość spora, trzeba mieć się na baczności. Faktura gęsta, likierowa, całkiem niezły balans, chociaż jest on nieco przesunięty w stronę Imperial IPA. Bardzo dobre piwo, trzyma wysoki poziom, do którego AleBrowar zdążył już nas przyzwyczaić. Naprawdę warto spróbować.

Thnx to phille. Pours hazy amber. Small white heead. Smell is bit sweet. Taste is sharp grains, bitter , nice and balanced.

Tap @ Kufle i Kapsle. Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, fruity and moderate hoppy - fruity. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 310715
