750 ml. bottle sampled Thanks to Kraddel! JorisPPattyn’s review shines an interesting light on this one. DeScription makes me think of an attempt to make an Orval styled beer. Bottle 8673/11000 (limited to only 11 thousand bottles, wowza :) Dark orange amber, creamy off-white head. Nose is funk, very odd mineral toothpaste-like brett, iron, some medicinal orange peel & almost medicinal brett. Interesting. Fizzy, grainy bodied & taste-wise, mineral, faintly medicinal brett, toothpaste, oddly sweet, powdery, spoiled orange peel, lightly boozy. Grainy, orange peel & fizzy character make it hard to drink, flavor profile is a bit too much for me, mineral, toothpaste, faintly medicinal,… A bit to interesting but an interesting one especially in the light of JorisPPattyn’s review. For me is a bit too much. Also I was surprised to learn that this brewery is that old.

Huge, stable, quite dense, cream-coloured head over clear copper-amberish beer, very well carbonated. Lactic acid & wild yeast erupting upon pouring; lemony, farmyard odours. Hint at banana and sour fruit. Toasted malts, dry spices, faint acidity (mainly in the -long- finish). The foam bursts with ironoxide - AT LAST!). Bit of humas sweat, again only faint fruitiness; quite earthy. Medium bodied at best, seems well-attenuated (I have some trouble believing that no sugar was added in the brewing process). Spritzy carbonation. NICE!! Given a bit more acidity, this would be 100% in the line of the former Allard-Groetembril beers, if with a stronger, more capable yeast. Tim, try again! This beer, even when it sports 8% ABV is more Saison than 80% of the beers marked as Saison on Ratebeer. Here is the typical Hainaut ironrich water again.

24/XI/15 - 75cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: 2020 (2015-1645)
Clear orange beer, creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: funky brett, bit sourish, fruity. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: urine, dirty, pretty sweet and sugary as well, a bit weird. Aftertaste: funky, weird, urine, little bitter, banana, citric touch. Not exactly what you'd hope your brett project to turn into, I'd say...
