Our Pineapple Sculpin IPA came from one of many small-batch cask experiments to enhance the flavor of our signature IPA. With so many tropical hop notes in Sculpin, how could we not try adding some sweet, juicy pineapple? The combination of fruity flavors and hop intensity definitely packs a punch.

355 ml bottle. Unclear orange body with a medium sized white head. Aroma is dominated by pineapple, too much pineapple and it feels a bit like canned pineapple. Flavor is sweet and slightly harsh bitter pineapple. Medium body and pineapple aftertaste. It might be personal thing if you prefer pineapple or grapefruit, but even if I like pineapple this is just to dominating in this case.

355ml bottle @ Kaisla. BBE 07/17. Pours orange with a smooth head. Aroma of pineapple juice, orange peel, citrus and caramely malts. Taste is sweetish and juicy with loads of pineapple notes, some orange peel, citrus and pine. Finish is sweet and slightly fruity with some pineapple and citrus. Okay, but not very fresh.

Bottle from Craftissimo at home. Almost clear deep golden pour with thin bright white head. Aroma is quite pineapple in a genuine super ripe sweet pineapple rather than flavor or canned. Goes well with the other tropical fruit in the aroma and resinousness. Yum. Pineapple in the taste is less pronounced. More big pine and tropical fruit bitterness with round golden malt sweetness. Great IPA. Very different than the other Sculpins I’ve tried, and not as common a spin on an IPA as grapefruit or orange. Would definitely get again.

From a 355ml bottle on 4/1/2017. Pours a slightly dark golden with a small head. The nose is hoppy with some distinct tropical notes, particularly the pineapple. Fruit dominates the flavour, but the pineapple is in check. The lovely tropical sweetness extends to mango and passionfruit, and there’s some biscuit and caramel malt in the mix. It finishes off with big, satisfying grapefruity hops.fullish body with a slightly oily palate and avearge carbonation. My fave Sculpin so far. Superb.

(Bottle) Pours cloudy amber with thin white head. Fruity aroma - quite complex, but mostly pineapple. Light body with excellent smooth carbonation. Nice taste - good balance between fruity tang and bitterness. Fruit and biscuity malt at the start steadily gives way to plenty of hop bitterness. Nice variation on a classic.

On tap at Red Cow North Loop. Pours gold orange with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma combines pineapple and citrus rind with a light sweet grain note backing. Flavor has a nice combination of bitter citrus and pineapple with a light grain backbone.

Hop bomb with a fruit punch heart. Absolutely gorgeous pour with a hazy, golden glow and massive frothy head. Huge waves of citrus and dank hops on the nose follows through to a hop haymaker upon first sip. The malts are deep and mildly sweet, and the pineapple combines with an orange marmalade middle to create a fascinating fruitbasket IPA. Long, mean, resinous piney fade. Yum.
