Our Pineapple Sculpin IPA came from one of many small-batch cask experiments to enhance the flavor of our signature IPA. With so many tropical hop notes in Sculpin, how could we not try adding some sweet, juicy pineapple? The combination of fruity flavors and hop intensity definitely packs a punch.

355ml bottle. Looks, smells, tastes and feels like a Sculpin if somebody had put some pineapple purée in it, which I’m guessing is what has happened. Works better in the aroma than the taste. Either way, good beer.

Bottle from Whole Foods Columbus Circle, Manhattan, New York, USA. A golden/orange coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, pineapple, fruit salad aroma. Tastes pretty much the same, hoppy pineapple, fruit salad, tropical fruit, slightly sweet. Decent IPA.

Bottle 355ml (Pub Winston). Clear amber-golden color, small white head, some lace. Aroma has sweetish pineapple, grass, spicey hoppyness. Medium-bodied. Sweetish pineapple, tropical, pale malty. Hides abv well. Probably not the most fresh sample but well-balanced.

Leighton’s flat clearance. Thanks to Paul. Almost clear gold beer, small cream colour head. Palate is smooth and has fine carbonation. Soft malts, touch of creamy sweetness. Pineapple cube sweets blend well with piney hop. Hop spice . Light orange peel. Mild bitterness on the semi dry finish. Works well.
