The association of citrus fruits such as orange, tangerine and grapefruit with the sweetness of red fruits brings an intense freshness to this dark beer. A very present bitterness characterized by citrus fruits stands out on the palate to give way to an explosive finish.

Bottleshare at Leighton’s Stratoflat. Thanks to Senior Frog. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Fluffy malts, trace of dry cream. Little roast. Bitterish pine hops with a backing of bitterish citric peel underneath. Bitterness ramps up in the finish. Decent.

Bottle thanks to Fergus. It pours hazy darkest brown with a decent light tan head. The nose is bitter, rich roast, varnish, pine needles, cola cubes, candied orange peel and Irn Bru. The taste is lightly bitter, charred stuff, earthy roast, toast, burnt toast, varnish, peppery spice and dirty with a dry, charred finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. A bit rough around the edges. So - so.

Bottle at home. Black with creamy beige head. Soap and flowers, lime peel, marmalade, grapefruit. Very hoppy beer, hard to get anything from the malts, but after a little while I get some brown bread, knackebröd, toast, maybe some coffee dregs. Medium bodied with creamy feel. Nice one.
