The association of citrus fruits such as orange, tangerine and grapefruit with the sweetness of red fruits brings an intense freshness to this dark beer. A very present bitterness characterized by citrus fruits stands out on the palate to give way to an explosive finish.

330ml bottle from Saveur Biere. Dark brown colour with a tan foam head leaving lacing. Aroma of malt, chocolate, roast, with mango and zesty citrusy hop. Taste is rich malt, roasted, caramel, coffee & milk chocolate, with fruity orange citrus and spicy earthy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie consumed at Frank (camper) Hans Memling campsite, Brugge, Saturday, 18th June 2016 Pours hazy dark brown with an off-white head, the aromas is mostly of fresh hops. The fresh, crisp, green hoppiness shines throughout. This drinks really easy and feels like a session beer it has great drinkability. There is roastiness in there but not as obvious as the hops which really steal the show. Pleased that we are off to Colmar on holiday next with this brewer from the town, hurrah! 4/VI/16 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: 31/VII/17 (2016-633)

Clear purple brown beer, big solid creamy beige head, very stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of citrus, some pineapple, passion fruit, bit sweet, caramel touch. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: nice hoppy start, sweet caramel malts as well, some citrus, grapefruit. Aftertaste: nice bitterness, citrus, pretty grassy, grapefruit, slightly roasted hint. Lovely ipa, not sure if I would detect the "black" in this black ipa, but I couldn't care less. This is one damn tasty beer!

330ml bottle. Clear, dark, chestnut colour with huge, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Herbal-spicy, hoppy aroma with tropical fruity background, some grapefruit, resin, a minimally funky touch, chocolately dark malty basis. Taste is bitter hoppy, herbal-grassy-spicy, hints of tropical fruit, grapefruit, chocolately, dark malty basis; soft palate but not undercarbonated. Slightly strange herbal touch.

Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ “Vini Birre Ribelli 2015”. Dark brown, small tanned head. Nose is leaves, herbal, licorice. Taste is herbal, dull leaves, powdery, mocha, licorice, herbal, touch caramel. Powdery body. Meh,… Not much of an BIPA, too much leaves, powdery character etc.
