Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep amber to brown with a nice lacy head. Nose - toffee with a yeasty tang. Taste - more of the same. Some Jamaica cake. Palate - close to medium bodied with a swetvyet tangy texture. The finish is dry and tangy. Overall - solid berr. Would’ve said this was either an Abbey Dubbel or a Biere de Garde in style.

dark brown colour, moderate sized creamy beige head; aroma of dried cherry, chocolate, leather and earthy notes, some peach, hints of smoke and maybe banana; taste is the same with mild lactic acid, sweetened cocoa powder and bread yeast notes; quite unique Belgian strong ale

Bottle at home. Dark brown with nice creamy beige head. Lots of cloves, caramel, allspice, banana bread, raisins, cinnamon, overripe fruits, light cocoa, bakers yeast. It’s actually quite bready but with lots of dark malts and spices too. Soft dried flowers in the finish and on the nose. Over medium sweet and medium bodied. Feels a bit sugary, but not too full bodied, still quite drinkable. Decent beer but lots of spices in here...

0.33l swingtop bottle. On my way from the kitchen to my living room it wanted out of the bottle. No gush, but a slow stream. The beer itself is a deep dark brown one with a little reddish hue and a small dark grey/brown top. A bit low on the nose perhaps. I get a good amount of sweetness here. Sugary dark knekk sweetness with chocolate, sour red currants and some yeast. It has a soft oily almost gliding mouthfeel and the carbonation is soft to average. Tastes alright. I have no idea what genre this is, but that doesn't really matter. Light chocolaty, nesquick, cardboard and a dry feeling in the mountains have. It's a bit too sweet to be called balanced. Drinks alright, but a tad to far out there on the sweet side for being true sessionabble. 19.10.2013

Bottle at home. Pours hazy brown with lots of yeast sediment. Some head. Very estery aroma, very fruity and banana aroma, spicy, toasty, and darkish malts. Medium-heavy body. Very fruity and estery, spicy and peppery, dark/toasted malts, quite bitter, chocolate. Great bitter, herbal finish. Really nice!

Bottle. Caramelized dark brown. Caramel is present throughout, but rather of the bitter kind. Pleasantly malty. The ABV doesn’t really show, just slightly on swallowing. Nice.
