33 cL bottle, courtesy of Bov. Pours dark brown with a creamy, tan and dense head. Aroma is fruity and spiced, somewhat x-massy. Sweet and floral flavoured, herbal and spiced on back of the tongue with a distinct phenolic note. Smooth and well balanced despite the aroma overload and mixed flavours. Ends lingering fruity and spiced.

Bottle, thanks Allen! Belgian yeast: Citruspeel , sugar, wood, salt, horseblanket. Pretty ruby colour, low brown layer. Medium to light body, somewhat sparkly dry. Fruity entry, on the citric side, light spice, a hint phenol, flavour less complex than the aroma. Quick finish.

The bottle looks good, fine combination of colors. The beer in the glass is dark, almost black, a bit dirty-turbid. Start quite strong, malty-fruity notes, modest smoky. Finish is a bit moldy-mushy. Good beer! Thanks to Allen for the bottle!

On tap at Rustico. Pours a oily, slightly thin, opaque black with a thin, fast fading brown head. Legs like a glass of scotch. Aroma is mostly spice, cinnamon, cloves, a little bit of tobacco and earth with some dark fruits lurking. Flavor was very unusual. Coffee at first, clove, cinnamon, ginger, some fruity sweetness and a lot of booze. Finish is oily on the tongue with a lasting booze/spice combo. Sorta reminded me of a gingerbread latte from Starbucks. Tasted like crushed gingersnaps. I wouldn’t drink a second but this would be a good after dinner beer if you were going to have one.

Snifter @ Ginger Man. Dark, light reddish brown color, cannot see through it. Has a small head. Aroma is sweet, buggy, cherry at first. Then comes a wave of earthy, musky vegetal slickness (in a good way, must be all those adjuncts) and a rhubarb-like tartmess. In the flavor the vegetal slickness is stronger yet very natural and earthy. Again, buggy and tart as well. The beer evaporates off the cheeks nicely to leave a refreshing feel. This is exactly what I expected and I am surprised more people do not understand what this brewery is all about.

Swing top bottle from Allen, thanks! Dark brown color. Caramelly spicy aroma (anis, cardemom, coreander and orange peels). Malty sweet, spicy flavor. Peppery aftertaste. Fairly well balanced beer.

Bottle, Drinks of the World, Zurich. Hazy brown colour with a beige head. Yeasty, spicy aroma. Flavour similar with added fruit balanced with some sourness. Bitter finish. Not bad.

33cl bottle. Pours cloudy brown with beige head. Aroma is yeasty, fruity and sweet reminding me of honey. Taste was hoppy with a light sour note, spicy and fruity (orange peel). Beer left a good tingly feeling on the palate and almost an oakish feel (as the Rodenbach beer), sugary and ligh notes of caramel. Lots of sediments. Quite drinkable. The aroma and appearance start off great, but the ending is a little let down. It seems the beer is missing something.
