Bottle.
A: hazy dark brown, small, foamy, tan head.
A: liquorice, aniseed, beef stock, brown bread, iron.
T: sweetish fig & prune, herbal liquorice & aniseed, toast.
F: herbal hops, spices, toast, touch of coffee.
P: medium body, thin oily texture, average carbonation.
Does have some redeeming 'brown' aspects but it leans too heavily still on the herbal profile.

Bottled. Dark brown colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is fruity, some yeasty, spicy and mild toffeeish notes. Flavour is nutty, syrupy some spicy yeast, mild dried fruits as well as some sugary tones. Mild alcohol showing in a warming way.

3/VIII/16 - 33cl bottle from the brewers @ home - BB: no markings on the side of the label to indicate a date (2016-806)
Clear reddish brown beer, big aery beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very spicy, liquorish, aniseed, cloves?, caramel, bit oxidized. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very spicy, cloves, aniseed, liquorish, bit sweet, caramel, pretty bitter and hoppy. Aftertaste: spicy, touch of chili almost?, liquorish, caramel, bit oxidized, reminds me of a Struise yeasty brown ale. I like the bitterness in this one!

Brown body. Creamy, lightly brown head. Intense aroma of malts, fruit, grapes, ... Heavily bitter, lightly sweet with interesting twist in the after flavour. Very nice.

330 ml. bottle sampled @ Bierfestival Brugge 2016.Thank you for sharing people! Dark brown, dash blackish with a big tanned head. Nose – served too cold – mildly metallic herbal umami notes with licorice, big dull herbal profile with sugary & metallic notes. Taste is simple licorice with metallic notes, herbal umami, basic sugar cacao, licorice leaves & dahs of instant coffee. Quite powdery & herbal body. Rather dull & lacking in complexity, at least this one is partially enjoyable. Their best beer which doesn’t say much to be honnest.
