Sampled from bottle at ’In de Wildeman’ during Carnivale Brettanomyces 2016. Clear, pale straw yellow. Sourish-fruity aroma of pear, some apples and a touch of gooseberry. Sweetish, slightly sourish, fruity taste of pear, apple and white grapes, followed by a short, slightly tart and dry finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent and quite astringent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!

500ml bottle. Pale yellow colour, short-lived white foam head and aroma of fruity pear. Taste is pear, woody oak with buttery & biscuity notes plus some hay & tannins. Slick mouthfeel, light bodied, medium carbonation, buttery biscuity & harsh straw note at the finish.

500ml bottle from Dunkertons Cider Farm, Herefordshire. Pours clear gold, with a sweet fruity perry aroma. Taste is distinctive Dunkertons; fruity, exceedingly well blended and underpinned by just the right amount of tannins.. I could drink this all day long.

50cl bottle. Pours golden and slightly hazy with very gentle bubbles. The nose has over-ripe pear. The taste confirms the over-ripeness but finishes with a dry tangy finish. I’m not sure why the scores for this are so low - there’s obviously depth of flavour and a good balance between initial sweetness and the dryness of the finish. I like this.

Bottle @ In De Wildeman. Clear champagne colour without head. Aroma is sweet, pear and a little tart. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate acidic. Dry and moderate acidic finish. Very refreshing and no sign of the relatively high ABV. 260712

Golden with moderate fizz. Pear juice, oak and some medium dryness. Easy to drink but with not much character. Oh, for a drop of Gwatkins on draught.........

Bottle from Waitrose. Hey a bottled Perry. I was surprised. I admit that I am somewhat of a fan of this style of alcoholic refreshment. Greeny gold colour with disappearing white head. Not intense pear aroma. Bit of rubber in mouth with nice solid pear flesh. Finish has some dryness, but mostly fruit. Very clean. Fruit gets better as it goes on. No real complexity, but nicely subtle.
