I have this 33 cl bottle of Maitre Quad obtained from Belgian Happiness some several weeks ago. I see that the label has changed, the abv remains the same. I pull out my Chimay glass to drink from and make the pour. I see a dark caramel body with a vigorous parchment brown head. A subtle but pleasant scent, ripe fruit, malt and roasted pecans. The drink is, yes, it is fine. Dark cherries, baked bread, raisins, yeast and cough drops. I appreciate quadrupels very much, this is on the positive end of the scale. Straightforward and hits all the bases.

Dark brown colour, beige foam. Sweet malts, dried fruit, some plums and raisins. Rather sweet, some caramel, medium bitter hoppy finish.

Dark brown, beige head. Nose of dried fruit (plums, raisins, figs). Taste is sweet, malty with some light roastiness. Well balanced. Good.

Bottle from FinestBelgianBeers. Pours a very very dark brown colour with a thin soapy looking beige head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel, alcohol, vinous notes with hints of chocolate and brown bread. Taste has the same notes as the aroma, lots of dark fruits, a touch of molasses, spice and some warming alcohol. Medium to full bodied with a slick slightly oily mouthfeel and a tangy fruity finish. Well balanced. Nice Quad.

33cl bottle from Spar Oostende. F: medium, tanned, good retention. C: dark, opaque. A: dark chocolate, banana, bit vinous, caramel, molasses, dried fruits, herbal spicy touch, almost complex. T: rich malty base, bit chocolate, banana, herbal, dark caramel, dried fruits, liquorice, molasses, spicy, vinous, coriander, alcohol is not very well hidden yet beside this quite nice for the style, full body, medium carbonation, fully enjoyed.

33cl bottle: BB 10th July 19. Poured into an old Hoegaarden Grand Cru stemmed tulip glass at home on 6th July 18, just after Belgium beat Brazil in the World Cup quarter finals. Black body, tanned crown, sadly soon a wisp and collar. Coffee esters rule the nose, coffee flavours rule the taste. Boozy brew with some liquorice notes in the coffee centric brew. Nice nightcap. Another cracking beer from Rudy in De Bierboom, Brugge.

Bottle picked up at Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte, West Flanders, Belgium, consumed at Fire in the Mountain Festival, nr Aberystwyth, Wales, 31st May 2018. Difficult to be exacting on colour owing to green plastic glass that is festooned with a Northern Rock Patrons Project label, however I am guessing it is murky brown with an off white head. A little bit lively on the pour. A touch of Coca Cola, but it's nothing special, soft in the mouth, a bit of sasprilla. Ok but rarely excites. A7 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.3

Bottle from Bierboom, Bruges. Thanks to Rudy for recommending. Shared with Anke.
Pours hazy dark brown with a lasting, small, foamy, beige head; some lacing. Strong aroma of caramel, candied banana & dark fruits, chocolate, syrup & molasses, fruit & coffee liqueur, light roasted malt, licorice, some herbs. It tastes medium to heavy malty/syrupy sweet and light herbal/toasty bitter, bit fruity & yeasty. Dry & (herbal) hoppy finish but overall malty, with warming liqueur alcohol. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Lovely brew.
