Sampled draft @ Bierfestival Brugge 2016. Very hazy orange with a small white head. Nose is huge peach, raw pine hops, heading towards herbal, thick layer of hops with some bread & overripe peach but this edges more towards harsh, herbal & pine and pine as opposed to fruity with some clear plaster yeast in the base & bready malts. Taste is bitter honey peach, weird bitter plastic, overripe stone fruits, insecticide, plaster, strong herbal plaster. Body is overly heavy, some plaster & strange bready base. Overall a very atypical IPA, it is surprisingly heavy body-wise, I would have never picked this one for being 4.3 % ABV, yeast is too apparent in a Belgian fashion & the hops are clearly going towards a purely bitter character with no fruity character. Interesting but the harsh herbal notes & overly yeasty tastes don’t entirely appeal for me. I strongly preferred the regular version, this one is going to appeal more for people who like bitterness for the sake of bitterness, it could use less yeasty notes either way. A quite atypical & interesting beer which is nice but not one entirely to my preference.

6/II/16 - on tap @ Brugs Bierfestival - BB: n/a (2016-102) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing today's beers!

Cloudy orange beer, creamy solid yellowish head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very very fruity, grapefruit, pineapple, lychee, bit floral, wow, what a smell! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very fruity start, grapefruit, passion fruit, pineapple, very bitter, bit resinous. Aftertaste: bitter, dry, lots of grapefruit bitterness, fruity notes, nice stuff!
