Old bottle just past expiry date. Aroma of rich fruits, tropical fruits, caramel, lots of pine, hops. Flavour is moderate sweet with a bitter finish. Full body and rich mouthfeel, fitting for a Double IPA. I hope to try a fresher bottle one day.

Half-pint on tap at their Old Town Temecula tasting room on 29th December 2022. Clean golden pour, white head. Heavy hop aroma and bitter taste (IBU of 111), liked it.

An Oxford tasting
Ironfire Devil Within DIPA, b, 9.5%, Matt Cloudy golden color. The aroma has some hops and some veggies. The malt base is a bit stale and grainy, not too much, the yeast gives mild Band Aid notes, strong bitterness but not much hop quality.
Something is wrong with this bottle.

Hazy and sort of a dull tan colour. Weak head. Massive phenols on the nose - like cleaners and stuff. When that dissipates a bit you get more orangey hop notes. On the palate, it's a bit stale-tasting, with a touch of fruit. The malts are quite dull, and the alcohol blunts this a bit, too. Lacks hop brightness, and the nose was a tough one out of the bottle. It ends up just being more of an ok DIPA.

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Nose is phenolic, with light band-aids, yeast, earthy hops and biscuity malt. Flavour seems a bit off, with earthy hops, band-aids, cleaner, and biscuity malt. This doesn't seem properly calibrated - phenolic, yeasty, and earthy. Odd - this doesn't work.

6th March 2016
Not the freshest bottle, about 6 months old. Almost clear gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is airy, mildly dry and has decent fine carbonation. Light dry pale malts, a little creamy sweetness. Piney hop. mild hop spice. Orange and ripe orange, little marmalade. Smooth pine. Light semi dry finish. Pretty good, has lasted well.

On tap at the brewery. It pours a pale yellow gold color with a white head. Aroma is strong with citrus and tropical fruit. Hints of florals, grapefruit and mango. The flavor has nice notes of candied grapefruit with some mint, spicy hop and solid earthy bitterness. Very bright and easy drinking for a big IIPA. Clean and fairly light bodied. Very good.
