Detta är en riktigt anrik svensk porter från Slottskällan. Mustig, fyllig och toppad med ljust, tätt skum. Malten har rostats bärnstensfärgad på hög temperatur och resultatet skulle vi vilja påstå är rätt majestätiskt.

Pours reddish brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel and chocolate. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with a long dry and roasted finish. Body is light to medium, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

33cl bottle from systebolaget, Sälen. Pours close to black with a small, tan head. Moderate fruity aroma with dark malt, dark fruits and lightly hoppy. Medium sweet with a fairly dry and medium bitter finish. Decent porter.

Bottle. A big, light tan head forms over a body looking black. Nice lacings left. The aroma has a burnt, sour bonfire touch, as well as spent coffee grit, some licorice and prunes. It’s full-bodied and soft on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. I’m not experiencing it as dry as I’d expect from the back label, but it’s more on the dry side than the sweet side. It’s lightly sourish and quite reminiscent of bonfire and ashtray. Coffee and licorice in the back. It’s pretty bitter too, especially in the mostly roasted finish. Overall, a tasteful and pleasant beer I could certainly have more of. Unfortunately it’s not common to find porters this good at only 5.5% ABV. 131211

Wässriger, dann röstig malziger Antrunk. Wenig schokoladig, trocken röstig, dann wieder wässrig. Trinkbares, mir zu trockenes Bier. 11/8/9/7/7/8

Bottle shared with ClubGonzo. Has a deep brown colour, with a small light beige head. Roasted aroma of soy sauce, coffee, dark chocolate and something reminiscent of hobby glue (?!). In the taste I find more roasted malt and coffee with beech, particularly dark chocolate and forest. Have a smooth and full bodied mouthfeel, and a light to medium bitterness. The beer has nice roasted notes, good balance and is a great porter.

330 ml bottle. Dark brown body, close to black with a big, foamy tan head, Nice aroma of roasted malt, coffee and liquorices. Flavour of dark roasted malt, liquorices, coffee and quite bitter. Fine body with a long, dry, aftertaste with roasted malt and coffee. A bit robust in style, but I really enjoyed this one.

Bra porter, som kanskje synes litt pislete etter så mange imp. portere på stereoider, men det er vel denne som er en typeriktig dry stout?
