This hop-forward IPA is the perfect marriage of London town and Cape Town. The African Queen hop and native African cereal Sorgham are combined with British Olicana and Bramling Cross hops. Fresh blackcurrant and lemongrass aromas offset a dry, earthy malt base in what is a very sessionable IPA.

[33cl bootle from Waitrose.] A dark golden amber pour with a loose cream head; rather yeasty aroma; quite a yeasty taste too, with the dorgham coming through and adding some sourness; before a biscuity finish. Certainly something a bit different, but seeming rather unbalanced to me.

Keg at the Dove, Hammersmith. It pours clear amber with a thick, foamy white head. The aroma is fairly subdued.sweet, toffee, caramel, muffin, toasted seeds, Brazil nuts straw, hay and grass. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter - sweet, toffee, caramel, toasted nut, pine, resin, candied lemon, lemongrass and a touch of minerals. Average body and moderate carbonation. Not bad.

Bottle at home, 01/06/19. Almost clear golden amber with a lasting egg shell white cap. Nose is tangerine, grass, airy malts, orange peel, straw. Taste comprises orange peel, light breads, melon, citric tinged straw, lemon rind. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light balanced hop bitterness. Ok easy drinking sessioner.

Bottle at home from Waitrose Canary Wharf. A clear mid orange coloured pour with a lasting off white head. Aroma is subdued earthy citrus, straw, orange rind, dusty grains, lightly toasted malts. Flavour is composed of rindy orange, flint, dried earthy pine, dirty straw. Some alcohol bite. Palate is fairlty dry, highish carboantion, flinty finish. Fairly basic stuff.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at Waitrose Canary Wharf. {ours clear orange-gold with a frothy, white head. Fairly malt-forward, with sun-kissed pale bread, soft pine, ripening orange and tangerine. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Finishes with more bready pale malts, citrus fruits, mellow piney bitterness. Easygoing.

Bottle from Waitrose. Amber coloured, with a moderately-sized, frothy, white head and touch of carbonation. Aroma of ripe tangerines and leafy hops. Flavour had prickly stone fruits, sweetish malts, and a vaguely spicy edge leading to a dryish finish. Enjoyable.
