Complete black color with a solid beige head. Ok lacing. Smooth mellow chocolate, oak and fruity aroma. Full body. A bit sweet and an ok bitterness. Soft carbonation. Powerful flavor. Really berry fruity after a while. Lots of chocolate, oak and mild licorice. Very well hidden alcohol.

Bouteille 33cl.

Bottle, 0.33l. Murky almost black color with thin creamy light brown head and many body particles floating. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, cocoa, oatmeal, coffee and liquorice. Taste starts with rich roasted malt and sweet chocolate, follows by liquorice and woody note with warming alcoholic mouthfeel and mild bitter finish. Full body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Couldn’t have aged it for 5 years, I think 5 weeks is a success story...

At the 1st tasting of 2015 in Belgrade-Serbia. Pours black with a tan head. Nose: tart feel of dry meat, smoked ham. Mouth: mirrors the nose. BBQ meat, cheese. Very different imperial stout from a Spanish micro brewery which has been doing really good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Black beer, almost no head. Did not age for five years, I’m not going to wait that long. Aroma of smooth whiskey and malt. Taste of salty dry licorice, coffee, some anise and boozy red fruit of the lagavulin. Note of cherry, bit port like. Malty and whiskey finish. The Spanish are doing quite well lately.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark brown pour with a thin tan head, quite a medicinal aroma, taste is sweet with some chocolate, phenols, hint of sweetness.

Bottle at home, 30th November 14. Pours black, some white head. Aroma is molasses, black treacle. Taste is molasses, slight sticky black toffee, some faint peat, and a little smokey leather, very balanced and integrated Islay. Not harsh at all really mellow and smooth. Drinks really well and the ABV is completely hidden. Very pleasant Imperial Stout.

330 ml. bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck. Very dark blackish brown, thick chocolate mouse head. Nose is thick warming whisky, peat is very light, almost doesn’t feel like Islay, there is a faint blackberry & peat note here, rich but not overwhelming, excellent quality spirit quality with light roast, very black chocolate, lots of cacao nibs, rich warming very high quality spirit. Taste is warming Black Forest cake, cacao nibs, lots of same pleasantly warming spirit, extremely balanced, high quality oak, Sherry oak, thick liquorish coffee, there is some very light peat in the back once you get accustomed to it, Black Forest Ham & light smoke, faint peat. Extremely mellow, complimentary & highly impressive use of an Islay barrel. Body is thick, substantial but not overly thick. Bottom of the glass had chunks of what looked like chocolate, chocolate wasn’t listed amongst ingredients, maybe yeast coloured by the beer itself? Very classy beer. Impressive work. I have wanted to try this one for a long time & I am glad that I finally did. Awesome label.
