Super dark red pour, huge fluffy, sticky off white head. Lovely citrus aroma, big notes of pine, and some sticky chewy malts. The hops are pungent, and sticky, and quite bitter. the mouthfeel is sticky, and thick, the carbonation is a little low and soft. the finish is highly bitter, big notes of grassy, citrucy hops. The malts are thick with caramel, and bread. A big hoppy red ale, nice stuff.

Clear red brown, fox brown colour, white head. Sweet aroma, malts, rye and hops. Sweet caramel flavour, malts, bitter hops, marmelade. Full body. Finish caramel and hops, lingering sweet malts. Quite like a hoppy barley wine.

Thank you JefVerstraete! Tasting glass from 750 ml. bottle consumed @ “The Tasting formerly known as Mons RBBAG I (2014)”. Hazy red / brown / amber, little head. Nose is caramel, tad herbal bitter, sticky sweet with bitter peel. Taste is bitter peel with thick syrupy malt base, herbal hops, chewy malts & sugar, bitter finish. Substantially thick. Tastes like a hoppy barley wine more than anything else, quite enjoyable even though I’m not big on fresh hoppy barley wines.

Clear red beer, small creamy yellow head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: caramel, sweet malts, raisins, bit fruity. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet malty start, caramel, pretty bitter, bit nutty, some citrus, bit resinous, dried fruits. Aftertaste: bitter, malty, pretty hoppy, fruity, sugary, sweet notes, more a barley wine than anything else I'd say.

Bottle. Aroma has quite strong hops (grassy, herbal, noble) with decent caramel and alcohol notes. Clear reddish amber colour. Taste has quite strong sweetness with caramel and light candy, in conjunction with high hoppy bitterness. Nicely balanced and nicely drinkable, overall very nice beer.
