Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 15.01.18. Dark brown. Strong aroma of Kitkat. Slightly sour taste of medium dark malt, rasins, sour berries and bitter lemon juice. Dry and lively mouthfeel. Bitterness and lemon sourness and astringency is lingering.

Aus der Flasche im 2017-11 getrunken. Das Ale hat eine volle, feinporige Schaumkrone. Ein recht gehopftes Brown Ale doch mit einem leichten, aber recht spannenden Haselnussaroma. Ein interessantes Bier.

Tap at the Ørsted Ølbar, Copenhagen. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin white head. The aroma is smoky roasted malt, ashtray, light caramel, nutty. The flavour is light sweet, liqourice bitter with a dry, crisp roasty liqourice, light hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark copper brown with stable beige head. Clear aroma of hops and malt, with notes of yeast and touches of caramel and fruit. Bitter and grassy flavour of hops, with roasty and nutty touches and notes of malt and caramel. Roasty and bitter aftertaste with estery notes. Decent.

Bottle. It pours an unclear brown body and a small dark beige head. The aroma is of the heavily roasted kind, with coffee, even burnt notes, some dark chocolate and bread crust, and a pleasant citrus zest touch. It’s full-bodied, quite smooth and rather dry on the palate, even though there’s sweetness in the flavor. Roasted malts, coffee grit, some burnt malts and dark chocolate as well. A nice bitterness and citrus zest too. Although a tad on the heavily roasted side for a brown ale it’s sure a fine beer. 160919

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.9%. Dark brown colour. Moderate and lasting off-white head. Dryish aroma of burnt breadcrumbs and roast nuts. Dry flavour with roast malts and nuts, burnt breadcrumbs and not much hops. Not my favourite kind of beer this.
