10/XII/15 - on tap @ Molenhof (Oostvleteren) - BB: n/a (2015-1705) Thanks to Nate for sharing the beer!
Clear black beer, almost no head, non adhesive. Aroma: alcohol, sourish, some chocolate, some dried fruits, raisins. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: very alcoholic, fruity, some chocolate, sugary, caramel, spices. Aftertaste: alcohol, mocha, pretty roasted, more alcohol, prunes, raisins. Not bad, but way too boozy!

[9/19/15] Draught at the ‘t Molenhof in Oostvleteren. Black. Aroma of roast, dark chocolate, cookies, vanilla and some booziness. Sweet and boozy flavor with lots of vodka, chocolate, dark fruits, vanilla. Full-bodied, very boozy. Way too boozy.

Draught Almost no head over near jet-black beer. Waterpaint, aromatic, benzene, sake, pecannuts, paintstripper, plums. Benzene², and Slivovitch with oily water and liquorice. Hot, dry, hardly beerish. Not worth a beer, IMO, really - this is dark slivovitch treated badly.

Pours black no head. Mell is sweet and boozy. Taste is bitter , very boozy with sharp grains, nice intensity. Very boozy though. Like a more drinkable version of their ...on steroids series

Sampled draft @ De Molenhof. Black zero head, crazy thick alcohol legs. Nose is herbal licorice, huge raw white alcohol, insanely boozy, raw distillate way, way above the 20 % ABV that this is supposed to be. Taste is insane burning, raw bad white distillate, harsh, punishing, feels crazily boozier than it is advertised, varnish, herbal licorice, raw thick licorice in the back, faint chocolate syrup, lingering burn,… Body is watery & alcoholic. Sorry this is just undrinkable for me, I tried. Overall I think that the current & future Struise is just not my cup of tea. I do realize that it is a personal thing given their rampant fanboys but the whole thing is a bit lost on me.
