Can. A clear, dark amber to brown body forms under a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma is lightly wort-like, with toffee, nuts, some dark chocolate and a faint touch of coffee grit. It’s roasted and full-bodied, semi-dry and with a pleasant carbonation level. Toffee, nuts, some chocolate and coffee too, lasting for a good while..A bit boring this one I think, but it drinks easily and is flawless. 150606

Thanks 355 ml. can sampled. Bottled on 26/11/2014. Clear dark amber, small tanned head. Nose is sweetish caramel, metallic lager, sweetish but thin, lots of caramel, cheap chocolate,… Taste is sweetish, sugary, metallic lager, cheap chocolate,… Bit thin & metallic. Decent, nothing outstanding but good for what it is.

Crisp dark brown coloured body with an almost perfect, three centimetre tall tan head that shows nicely. Aroma of nuts, earth, caramel, brown sugar and a touch of light funky yeast - nice. Medium-bodied; Assertive nutty flavour with some walnuts and cashews noticeable and an almost fruity finish with a pleasant sweetness. Aftertaste shows a little depth from the caramel and a lot of nuts with only a touch of yeastiness and funk at the tail end. Overall, a decent nut brown and perhaps one of the better and most complex ones i’ve had in a while, but that still unfortunately doesn’t make this a beer worth searching out to find. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 08-November-2014 for US$2,25 sampled at home in Washington on 15-March-2015.

Sample at Fette Sau. Clear pale brown color with a thin beige head that recedes quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts and hops. Light-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, nuts and mild earthy hops. The finish is sweet with a short malty aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

On tap at Alewife. Pours a transparent brown with some thin white head. Nose is malty, sweet, lightly nutty, light bread. Flavor is the same, malty, crackers, light brown sugar. Watery finish. Fairly standard brown.
