Porter from a new Belgian micro brewery - the fact alone that a new brewery here makes an attempt at this classical but in no way Belgian style, is something I can meet with enthusiasm, considering the overload of tripels, dubbels and blondes we have been confronted with in the past decade. Creamy, medium thick, light beige head over a deep bronze beer, not black at all but still very dark; aromas of cedar wood, coffee grounds, caramel, candied fruits, hint of black pepper. Caramelly and bittering roasted accent in the mouth, smooth, restrainedly fruity, sweetish and resinous with hints of port wine and honey, very malty, little bit nutty, some black chocolate bitterness and spicy hops accent in the finish. I love porters and this style still needs further development in Belgium in my opinion, but this is definitely a good start.

Röstig karamelliger Antrunk, etwas wässrig. Spritzig, nicht sonderlich würzig, gut. 11/9/8/9//9
