Bottle at ChrisO’s. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is bitter-sweet, juicy, roasted malt, cocoa, dark chocolate and ash. The taste is bitter-sweet, earthy roast, juicy, toast, wood, leather, light burnt notes and chocolate cake with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Well-rounded and rather drinkable. Decent.

Bottle shared at chriso’s Easter 2015 tasting - London. Cheers to Colin for this one I think. Pours black-brown with a thick, tan foam head. The aroma holds milk chocolate and lots of ashy roast. Medium sweet flavor with subtle peat notes, some earthy bitterness, cocoa, smoke. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish with further chocolate impact, subtle maple accents, moderate ashy roast and scorched earth. Not bad.

Bottle courtesy of Andrew and douglas88, thank you gents! Completely black color, thick dark brown head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of licorice, rich dark bittersweet cocoa, burnt cofee, dark fruit. Taste is smooth, rich, slightly fruity, slightly sour, very roasty and complex. Very tasty.

Poor choice labeling this as a Russian Imperial Stout, anyone who has explored craft beer or beer in general for more than a day will know that there are a few red flags here. First being the 7% abv, not going to cut it, some regular stouts are more than that. Second is the watery pour, Dark Lord, Speedway, etc. are like tarmac pouring into the glass, this was more like Guinness Extra Stout. Third is the flavor, again watery, thin mouthfeel, some roasted coffee and hints of chocolate, but nowhere near the complexity of a well made RIS. Disappointing on most levels, this shows a lack of care on the brewer and a lack of respect for those that would buy their products.

Sample from 75 cl. bottle. Black with a reddish hue. Small, tanned head. Roasted aroma with brown cookies, tar, yeasts, caramel malts and a fruity note. Taste is sweet. Medium body, soft carbonation and a creamy texture. Finishes sweet with roasted malts. Rather subdued in terms of taste for an Imp. Stout.
