Infused with Drysack Solera Especial 15 Años Oloroso. An amber-coloured beer of intense aromas suggesting dried nuts. Full-bodied and balanced, with little acid and quite sweet with a long finish.
We put the Oloroso in a large barrel and add American roasted and toasted oak flakes. After 3 weeks this mixture is ready to be added to the beer in the bright beer tank. This way we obtain a maximum performance of the used liquor strengthened with the taste of the used oak flakes to enrich our beer.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is sweet pale malt with oak, vanilla, sherry, and stewed fruits. Flavour is medium sweet with a light to moderate bitterness. Body is medium, light sticky texture. Little complexity, but drinkable with pleasant sherry tones.

Bottle from Carrefour. Clear dark golden, thin, off-white head. Aroma of apple peel, pear, yellow raisin, wood, hard caramel, apricot, honey. Taste has sweet raisin, plum & apricot, sourish undertone of green apple, bitter wood & herbs in the middle over biscuity-honey maltiness. Herbal hoppy finish, restrained caramel, dried fruit, softly warming woody sherry alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. It's not that it lacks complexity, it lacks body and character. Shame!

Pours unclear, darker blonde. Medium sized, relatively low stability white head. Scent is clear BE yeast, mild oak (vaniline is quite high, which isn't pronounced in sherry, ussually). Taste is very vaniline, chemical, sweet, but annoyingly so. Chemical, BE yeast, mild bitterness, sweetness is completely out of balance, and so loaded on vanilline it's annoying and just bad to me. Reminding of Cornet, but even more extreme. As a big sherry fan, I don't recognize sherry at all in this mess. Medium body, medium carbo. Finish is vaniline, sweet, unnatural. No... Thats not good.

Clear orange beer, big creamy solid beige off-white head, stable, adhesive. Aroma: dusty, pretty oxidized, malty, lots of grains, bit of dried fruits, oxidized, alcohol, wood notes. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty dry, bitter, wood notes, some dried fruits, very oxidized, very bitter, herbal, malty. Aftertaste: very bitter, alcohol, greens herbs, wormwood, verbana, oxidized, some dried orange peel, more bitter, bit unpleasant, more oxidation notes, some cardboard, harsh bitter finish.
Paired very good with lobster bisque.

Si l'idée de cette Lazarus au sherry est bonne, la réalisation est proche de la catastrophe : difficile d'y retrouver des arômes de sherry et surtout bière peu équilibrée avec trop de sucre, un alcool à 8,5% mal intégré, une légère acidité et une amertume fluctuante. En verre, pas sensationnel non plus avec un blond doré opaque et une mousse blanc cassé de 3 mm. Le nez est sur les céréales, la banane, la pêche et la coriandre. Le sherry ? On le cherche…il est possible de le deviner très, très loin. A l'attaque il en va de même où des arômes que l'on s'imagine ceux de sherry avec un peu de boisé s'ajoutent aux arômes du nez, le tout sur une alliance pas exceptionnelle. Mais c'est avant tout l'équilibre qui déçoit comme évoqué. La seconde bouche est dans la lignée sans réelle évolution. L’arrière-bouche est confuse sur des arômes qui font quelque peu chimiques. Le final termine sur une note d'amertume, accompagnée de fruits jaunes et de faibles aromes de barrique. Corpulence et longueur sont honnêtes cependant. J'ai du mal à comprendre la bière, en tout cas sur sa réalisation.
