It’s time to bring some Belgian inspired beer to the hipster hub of East London and beyond. This is unlike no other beer that you would have tasted by a British brewery. An individual within its class…a standout. So very Shoreditch. A fantastic beer for those looking to expand their beer palate. If you are partial to white wine this could be the beer for you. Pairs great with seafood dishes, cheese boards and a nice bit of crusty bread…we like grabbing a few of these for a day spent on the picnic blanket!

Bottle that Ash gave me - cheers mate! It’s a cloudy gold beer with a middling white head. Up front it tastes of hefe yeast, breast and a hint of banana. Then floral and grassy flavours with a touch of spice. Finishes with a mild but growing and lasting bitterness. Bit like a cross between a hefe and a lager, and doesn’t quite work for me.

(Bottle, Japanese Canteen, Bethnal Green, London, 21 April 2017) Golden yellow colour with rocky, white head. Malty, fruity nose with peaches, bread and citrus. Malty, fruity taste with notes of bread, peaches, citrus, grass and a gentle spicy bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and slightly spicy, with a slight saison character. Quite nice.

Bottle from Dirty Dick’s, near Liverpool Street. Blonde as per the name, hazy with a tight white head. Lovely yeasty smell, a but of malt biscuit, papaya, a hint of cheese. Tastes sweet but there a lovely charged hop bitterness which takes it to the end. Some yeasty sourness on the finish. Decent stuff, although it’s not going to be one of my favourite Redchurch beers.

A light yellow beer, a head is white, big and clouding. Aroma has grain and nice citrus and other fruits, aromatic. Taste has a great and complex citrusfruits, grain stays in the back, enough of bitterness. Quite light bodied, high carbonation. Aromatic and refreshning, tasteful.

Appearance- golden and fairly clear, bubbles rising, a big 2-finger white head which quickly settles down, leaving a bit of lacing. Aroma- cereal and wheat, lemongrass, fresh hops, cut grass, citrus fruit. Taste- orange peel, creamy malt, lemon, wheat beer, bitter hoppy finish. Mouthfeel is reasonably full. Very good.

Keg at the Hanging Bat. As a saison at 4.5 %. Pours hazy yellow with a thick white head. Aromas of funky lemon, green pepper. Taste is light lemon, light sweet bread. Hoppier than I’d expected. Bitter lemon finish.
