Indian Summer, that period of exceptionally warm weather that we get at the end of September and through to October. Balmy warm days and cool evenings, a perfect time for a beautiful glass of ale.

This showcases our opportunity to brew different beers without the commercial pressures of a larger brewery. The saison yeast we love to use was delicately added to a traditional IPA recipe to produce an outstanding beer. The flavour of the hops enhanced by the yeast to produce a smooth very drinkable beer which belies its strength at 7.3% ABV.

To further show our desire to produce adventurous beers, we dry hopped one cask with motueka hops from New Zealand.

375ml bottle. Bright golden colour, foamy white head leaving lacing and earthy yeasty fruity aroma. Taste is grainy, straw, tangy, grassy, citric, brett with some yeasty earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, tangy bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Thx! 750 ml. bottle sampled. Hazy orange, little white head. Quite bitter in a chemical, medicinal way, crazy strong orange peel, aspirin, candy sugar, something very odd,.. Taste very chemically bitter, medicinal, floral, orange peel, aspirin, very fizzy. Very odd & not entirely enjoyable but out of the 8 Poppyland beers which I tried this is the only one that didn’t appear to be infected & was actually somewhat enjoyable. Still at 10 £ @ brewery this is nonsense, which is the price for which the person who shared this, procured this one.

Hazy amber beer, good fluffy white head. Palate is light and crisp and semi dry. Good bretty seltzer start. Bitterish grapefruit zest and a whisper of orange marmalade. Brett turns bitter before a light dry finish.

Bottle, Beer Moth, Manchester. Hazy amber pour with a fast fading bubbly off-white head. Somewhat unappealing nose with some fruit and spice notes. Flavour had some citrus and spice in tandem with some rustic hop bitterness and a bit of sourness. Not without some good qualities but a bit rough around the edges.

Bottle from the brewery. Clear, bright, copper colour. Huge, rocky, off white head. Bready. Brut Champagne. Light sulphur. As mentioned below, stewed tea. Taste is raw bitterness. Mouth stripping dryness, too. Decent amount of carbonation makes a palate cleansing, astringent, no prisoners taken, kind of beer. Some sourness on the finish, with the raw, bitter, dankness lasting an age. Then, right at the end, a light, honey sweetness pops out of nowhere. Mad as a room full of Pugs. Liked it.
