The Saint Médard Season celebrates this emblematic style of Belgian Hainaut. At the time of farm breweries, we only brewed in winter because industrial cold did not exist. Tradition has it that seasonal beers were brewed at the end of winter with the last stocks of grain to empty the barns but also to water the workers during the harvest "season".
With a dark apricot color, Saint Médard Saison provides a spicy nose, a flavor of caramelized malt and biscuit. It diffuses a dry and fruity flavor accompanied by a moderate and fragrant bitterness.

Draught @ Au Baron. Pours unclear amber, good off-white head, looking handsome in the glass. Aroma bears gentle saison yeast, soft amber malt, distant nutty hints. Harmonious flavour profile, great balance, some caramelised malt, light spicy hints, definitely leaning more towards a saison in feel than a French ambree or biere de garde. Could swear it was a blonde saison in a blind tasting. Very fresh. Lovely beer.

Tap at Beergeek Bar. Clear amber body, off-white head. Pleasant malt-driven aroma, dark bread and caramel largely, rye maybe. Liiiiightly tart, smooth caramelly taste, dark bread, earthy, vague alcohol, oooh, tasty! Pleasant, smooth, elegant, one of my two faves tonight!

Bottled. Slightly hazy orangeish amber colour with a huge foamy white head. Oh and Gusher warning. Aroma is sweet malts, some bready, caramelly and yeasty notes along with mild herbs and some slight grass. Flavour is sweet malts, some floral, grassy and herbal notes along with some yeast as well.

75 cl-flaska från SB. Disig gulbrun vätska med högt krämigt och stabilt vitt skum. Blommig, och fruktig belgojästig doft. Mjuk munkänsla, relativt torr, stilmässigt som en mörkare saison eller kanske en cross over av biere de garde och saison. Maltigare än en saison men örter, jord, jäst och en blommighet som likanar en saison. Koomprissar på krispighet och fräschare men annars riktigt trevlig.

Rödbrun och disig med medelstort skum. Doft av jäst, röda äpplen och farin. Även i smaken hittar man jäst, äpplen i farin. Helt ok. Förstår dock inte varför den marknadsförs som en Saison här i Sverige.

LCRBM2: had some trouble properly tasting this beer. Caramelly toffee flavor, somewhat dusty. Soft, sweet, pleasant but undistinctive. Bottle@home: light orange color, chunks of yeast floating. orange in teh vinous and dusty aroma. Vinous flavor, almost sherry-like, with reamining flowery hops and mandarin curacao. Maybe past its peak, but quite drinkable.

Poured at Shelton Festival, gold with small white head that lasts. The aroma is floral and yeast. Medium body, yeast and fruity malt, light finish, good.

Bottle 750ml. corked. [ As Au Baron Saison Saint Medard Ambree ].Clear medium orange amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, caramel, sweet malt, nutty, moderate yeasty, sugary, sweet yeast, biere de garde yeast. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, sugary, sweet yeast, biere de garde yeast. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20161018]
